Joh 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
TEE Graduation 2006

Hmong First Baptist of Milwaukee and Appleton Hmong Baptist Mission celebrated with 18 TEE graduate candidates from two years of dedicated study in Theology Education Extension (TEE) on June 3, 2006. This is the largest, as a group, Hmong TEE candidates to ever graduate from among all Hmong Baptist church in the United States.

From their own testimony (see video) some TEE grads have been believers for over twenty years and confess they know very little about the life of Jesus Christ before taking the class. The majority reads the Bible and thought they understood it, but during the course, they realized they have a lot more learnings to do. Some say, "It's like our eyes were opened...and now we see what the Bible passage has really been saying. We take it to heart..."

TEE class starts with an Introduction workbook called "Lub Neej Puv Ntoob", preparing the candidates to live and conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner. It takes about two months to complete, meeting just once a week. It teaches them how to apply Christian principles to their daily lives and guide them to practice those principles.

After the Introduction course, the class takes a closer look at the life of Jesus Christ in course workbooks 1 - 6. The courses give historical background from the time of Abraham, King David, King Solomon, Jesus Christ's birth, death, and resurrection; ending with the Apostles spreading the Good News throughout the world. The major focus is on the life of Christ while He was on earth, what He did and what people did to Him through the six phases of his life:

  • 1. Ntu Mosliab
  • 2. Ntu Yexus Hluas
  • 3. Ntu Npaj Tseg
  • 4. Ntu Muaj Koobmeej
  • 5. Ntu Raug Kev Tsimtxom
  • 6. Ntu Sawv Tau Txojsia

  • Tshaj Tawm Vajtswv Txojlus

Each TEE candidate feels it has enriched the their lives and enabled them to explore more deeply on their belief and faith. It has answered many questions they had and taught them more than what they had anticpated. Their overall experience had been that TEE education provided deep learning experiences, shape their lives, enriched their understanding of Jesus Christ and the Bible; and help bring other people to Christ. No other educational institution they attend had been able to affect their lives so profoundly as TEE.

Pastor Tongber Vang, who had been leading the class praises the group for their conviction to continue even though some have encountered life obstacles. Seldomly, people quit at this point but these group of TEE students were able to pull and supported each other through to completion.

Overall, TEE has strengthened their belief and conviction to Christ. With better understanding of the Bible, they are now better equiped to spread the Good News to others. Praise the Lord!
